I’ve mentioned before that there are so many wild edible greens in Thailand that it's barely worth mentioning, but I took some pictures by the river in the morning when we went looking for some. He was looking for a type of watercress that grows nearby bogs.
We found a few closer to the river.
My girl hung over the bridge to catch fish but didn't have any luck.
Shadow liked the water.
This tree has edible pods and leaves. It is called Lead tree, White lead tree, River Tamarind and Horse Tamarind. Plus it has equally as many Thai names.
All came out to a satisfying breakfast.
Happy Eating…
I have a Mimosa tree in my front yard. It's sort of starting to die back, about 30 years old, and leaning towards where my car is parked. I so enjoy its pink fuzzy blossoms (not as much as the bees tho) and pods that look a lot like the ones you picture, also pickle-able and edible. Many baby trees all over the yard to replace it. Maybe next summer we hire someone to take it out, I will miss it, but the leaning is increasing....!
Sweet!
