A Walk Through the Old Siam Bar
I Wonder How it Looks Now?
In 2011 I invested and spent time on Racha Island south of Phuket managing the Siam Bar. We set up a wedding there and I had big ambitions for the place. The Siam Bay in front was popular with day tripper scuba divers and we had great speedboat parking. We did good business, which unfortunately caught the attention of the Thai mafia, which killed business ambition, as they always wanted more money and had no consideration for operating costs. Plus they scared off actual patrons. So after a few months I left there and ended up marrying my bartender, Oh.
Kuhn Ran stayed on the island and operated the business low key until the Covidcon shut everything down. He died suddenly in May as I mentioned in one of my posts about attending his funeral at Wat Muang Mai. I think I should ask his brother Ron what became of the bar. It was a beautiful place back in the day…
Anyways, my trip down memory lane clip for the day
